Back at it Again

I'm going back! I still can't get over how lucky I am to be able to go to Europe two summers in a row! If you didn't know already, I'm minoring in Italian up at Purdue, and I would love to be fluent in the language. I've got two years under my belt, and I figure that the only way I'm really going to learn to speak the language is if I live and study in Italy for a month.

So that's the plan. I'm heading to the University for foreigners in Perugia for the July intensive language course. I'm leaving one week from today. This could be interesting, I don't have an apartment lined up and the university hasn't received my payment yet. So I might be spending July as a Perugian street bum.

I've got a few rules set for myself this time around. I figure if I'm going to really learn Italian, I've got to leave the english I know and love behind for the month and fully immerse myself in Italian. So heres the plan. The moment I step enter Perugia in Italy, I will no longer speak or write in english. Worst case scenario, at that moment I will be a foreigner with no appartment, with no enrollment, and with the italian vocabulary of a three year old. I know its going to be really tough, but I think it will be a blast (I also enjoy running marathons so maybe I'm just crazy). With that said, when I start posting in Italy, I'll be writing in Italian. You'll have to use one of those online translator deals unless you know Italian that is. But for those who are too lazy to translate, I'll put pictures up too, so at least you can look at the pictures.
